School Psychologist - Counsellor

Responsibilities:

As a School Counsellor at Ardingly Astana, you will be responsible for providing support services to pupils, teachers, and parents to enhance the academic, social, and emotional development of pupils. You will be involved in the enrollment process, conducting interviews, assessing pupils, and evaluating applications with the admissions team. You will work collaboratively with teachers and the pastoral care team to identify and address the diverse needs of pupils and fostering a positive and inclusive school environment conducive to learning and growth.

• Evaluate applications, conduct interviews, and assess pupils for enrolment aligned with the school's mission and values.
• Collaborate closely with parents, staff and students regarding the admissions process and ensure alignment with the school's educational objectives.

• Provide individual and group counselling to pupils facing emotional, behavioral, or social challenges.

• Collaborate with teachers and parents to address academic and behavioral concerns and provide appropriate support.

• Participate in team meetings and consultations to support pupil success and holistic development.

• Implement preventative programs and initiatives to promote mental health and well-being within the school community.

• Maintain accurate and confidential records of counselling sessions and interventions.

• Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in counselling, psychology, or a related field.

• Certification as a school counsellor (if applicable).

• Previous experience working with children and adolescents in an educational or counselling setting.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with pupils, parents, and staff.

• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

• Familiarity with diverse counselling techniques suitable for young children.

• Proficiency in English essential, Russian and/or Kazakh language desirable.
